Also, the TS-7300 (or other models) would make great Modbos TCP/IP to Modbus serial bridges. I have the software to do that, but need to put some finishing touches on it.

The TS-7400 (or other models) could also be used to cheaply extend network access to a remote location over 1 km, via PPP over full duplex RS-485, or even via wireless using the Maxstream XBeePro that will allow you to extend your network one mile (line of sight outside), again using PPP. Of course would not be very high bandwidth, you need one TS-7400 on each end.
