The stock TS-7200 does not maintain date across reboots.  If you want that
feature I generally use rdate against a timeserver, or buy the optional
real time clock ($14 I think?).

On a full Debian development system, just follow "man date"
date  110118422006
      MMDDhhmmCCYY
