WLAN Startup script
CRON and TS-7260
Some posts there give some hints on where to put startup stuff. The startup stuff is fairly standard SysV init - found on very many flavours of Unix and on most Linux's."
Hi Jim, don't want you to get the wrong idea, I did see your response and scanned as far back as I could to find specifics on those threads. Where I was unclear, is on specifically where to wire in the changes so the WLAN would activate upon boot.
Wound up adding references to needed kernel modules to the modules file (pathname hazy as I am posting away from the hobby bench), but had to defer the insmod call for the zd.o itself, to a later phase of boot.
I accomplished that step by adding a file to the /etc/rcS.d folder, arranging its name to be the last thing run before entering runlevel=2. That script does the insmod for zd.o, and then the obvious iwconfig/ifconfig steps to bring up the interface.
(BTW this is all on the Debian distribution booting from SD).
Works great. Thanks all who replied with tips. Corrections and improvements welcome.
