I'm having this same EXACT problem on a brand new TS-7300 board. I'm
using a 256meg SD card sent from Technologic with the debian
distribution preloaded. I originally thought that it was somehow
corrupt(even though partitions 2 and 3 were mountable), so I dd'd the
fastboot image straight to the "full disk" device. I can still mount
partitions 2 and 3 and things appear to be correct, but the system
still doesn't boot. I have sent an email to Technologic asking for
further help troubleshooting the problem, since I've just about
exhausted everything I can think of. I'm starting to be concerned
that the problem is with the programming of the FPGA. From my
understanding of the design of this board, that could definitely
affect it's ability to boot the SD.
