I was never able to compile with 4.x at all.

I am currently running into some serious problems with debian etch +
Qt/E + konqueror ; something to do with visibility of global v. hidden
symbols.  It appears to be etch related.

If there are any c++ / qt experts on this list, I sure could use some
advice.....
