I've just made a very very quick alteration to the gps_pps.tgz module
that's in the files section, and got that working absolutely 100% fine
in kernel land with my 'touching wires together' technique.  So at least
I'm pretty sure my problem isn't hardware based! :)

If it's any help working out what's going on I'm using a self-built
ts11-based kernel too (which luckily has the GPIO IRQ patch already
applied).
