Ok, I am planning on using modbus RS485, so glad to hear it is all working so well. I did not realize you could switch the port between RS485 and RS232 though. Who else is using Modbus (RS232, RS485, or TCP/IP)?

Don.

I use RS485 Half-Duplex for many of my applications and it works
perfectly. With this option, COM2 is still defaulted to RS232 and
there's only a register to set to switch to RS485 and to clear to turn
back to RS232.

It's that simple.
