CwLinux has one, even have a USB version.  I've got the black usb one http://www.cwlinux.com/eng/products/products_cw12232.php

Even though the version I've got is the "Graphical" one, you can still use it as a straight up character based display.  I can echo and cat stuff to /dev/ttyS0.

Good company to deal with, shipping was very reasonable.

If it uses standard DIO to drive it, you should be ok, the only issue might be voltage levels.

But, why not consider a serial interface display with keypad interface. That way, it takes just one serial port for both display and keypad, instead of a ton of valuable DIO. Microcontrollers are getting so cheap it does not cost that much more. You can locate the display up to 50 feet away if you use a lower baud rate. Programming is also simpler.

Here is one source:

If anybody else knows other sources for industrial quality serial interface LCD displays with keypad interface, please let me  know. I would like to check features / prices.

Could one of you hardware gurus please look at this LCD and tell me if
it would work with the header on the TS7XX0 boards?

In particular this one: http://www.lumex.com/spec.asp?p_n=LCM-S01604DSF

AFAICT this is as close as I can get to the LCD that TS sells, except
in a 16x4 layout rather than the 20x2.

Thanks,
