If it uses standard DIO to drive it, you should be ok, the only issue might be voltage levels. But, why not consider a serial interface display with keypad interface. That way, it takes just one serial port for both display and keypad, instead of a ton of valuable DIO. Microcontrollers are getting so cheap it does not cost that much more. You can locate the display up to 50 feet away if you use a lower baud rate. Programming is also simpler.
