At one point last week I had a "booting to busybox" with udev enabled version of the latest 2.6 patches for this processor, compiled with gcc 4.01

since then I've broken it all by an attempted switch to the OE and softfloat EABI. I will revert back in a day or so if I can't resolve the EABI issues, but if your problem is merely dev nodes, the attached /dev directory is enough to boot from.

Hi,
devfs was removed in 2.6.13. Any other ideas? I am using the
amba-pl010.c serial driver.
I notice in 8250.c:2264

static int __init serial8250_console_init(void)
{
        serial8250_isa_init_ports();
        register_console(&serial8250_console);
        return 0;
}
console_initcall(serial8250_console_init);

and similar in the cirrus serial/ep93xx.c driver, but nothing like it
in the amba driver. Is this important?
Thanks
