It could very well be the problem. As part of the ep93xx upstream code
submission (which will also support the TS-7200, by the way, courtesy of
a friendly soul who helped testing on the TS-7200), I'm hoping to get a
patch into 2.6.17 that disables the ethernet DMA before uncompressing
linux, to work around the problem.
(Ever since I enabled the workaround, I haven't seen boot failures
anymore, while previously the kernel would fail to boot once every 4 or
5 tries.)
