Hi Mike,

I remember somewhere in the manual that the COM2( dev/ttyAM1 ) does not have all the Serial lines. COM1(dev/ttyAM0) has. Maybe if you disable Hardware flow control on your Handspring it might work.

Also make sure you PS and check if there is any other process connected to /dev/ttyAM1

If you'll re-read my ori! ginal post, I did not have problems using a
null modem cable to communicate between my desktop PC and the TS. Where
I have problems is using my Handspring Visor to communicate with the TS.
The Visor will work when connected to my PC using an identical serial
port setup and application.

What could be different about the serial port on the TS compared to a
PC?

Thanks,
Mike
