hi all
first question is i have a 256mb CF card , its now formated as ext2
and mounts ok
but have a problem , using a laptop with knoppix and the debian tar
file in a windows xp ntfs partition i cannot extract it to the CF
this is because the laptop only has 256mb ram , and manages to get
about 75% through extracting it before it crashes because its out of
ram ,
so i have been unable to succesfully load the debian files system
onto it , is there a way that once mounted on the ts7200 that i can
ether ftp the whole thing accross or something , ftp dosent seem to
like the simlinks , although if the second question is sorted then
should be able to ftp the debian.tar file to the hdd and extract it
from there

second question is , i am waiting for a usb - ide adaptor so i can
use a hdd with the unit
this should give me swap space and enough space for the full debian
file system
but before i try this i would like to know if it is posable to boot
from the device , or if booting from CF and mounting the drive is
going to be a better option

also does the onboard flash version of linux support the mounting of
a usb hdd ? if that is the case then im still stuck on how to
extract the image to it

Dave
