while...

Why did you guys opt for devfs?

It maybe that I'm just used to older style fixed /dev entries, but I
reckon it is easier to customise and find these sorts of quirks by use of
symlinks etc in the static /dev case.


One solution to hide the /dev/fs stuff would be to mount devfs on another
directory, and at boot populate /dev with the appropriate named links that
make naming more uniform.
