I too have the same problem.

It seems to take an eternity before Linux boots to a point where the lcd can be initialized.

I sure hope someone has an idea here.

Fifteen seconds is an eternity when turning on a device.  I'm always
tempted to "pull the plug" because something must surely be wrong!!!
