Hi everyone interested in booting,

Bob Lees and I are working on a "Serial Blaster". This is a replacement to the
"Blaster" daughter board used to bring-up TS-72XX boards. So you can bring-up
a board with corrupt flash or eeprom.

Bob has done the Redboot modifications and I'm working on the serial
bootloader.

Currently the software detects a TS-72XX's serial boot request, and uploads
2048 bytes of boot code. The boot code changes the clock speed (200Mhz on a
TS-7250), initializes SDRAM, and dissables the TS watchdog timer (on my board
TS-7250 board it can dissable the watchdog in time, but I have not tested it
on my TS-7200 board, which has a quicker watchdog).

My next task is to speed up serial to 115200 bps and load Bobs rom based
redboot image.

I will then add code to redboot to burn new images into the EEPROM.
If anyone knows which register controls the TS-7250 EEPROM chip select, I'd
appreciate the information.

This "Serial Blaster" uses the GNU license and will be posted to our
newsgroup. I'll also post it to freshmeat.net, so we can encourage more
developers to use the TS-72XX board.

-Curtis.
