Ed, 
  Before I can rebuild the kernel, I need some direction  
on how to reformat & re-install the root file system on CF. The 1GB 
CF from TS went bad. I suspect this is why the TFTP boot didn't 
complete (from the TS ARM linux developers manual) using the zImage 
you provided in ftp://oz.embeddedx86.com/ts7250_ts8.tar.gz.
