hi again,

i suspect it actually was working, as i have another computer that i have tested and it works on the same distribution.  however the computer that is intended to get the camera is still boned (pwc.ko is missing).  i'm failing to recreate the module for some reason.

Mr. Lombard suggested i get the files from the package manager. (thank you for your suggestion by the way Mr. Lombard)  I believe I have gathered the source but still can not find out how to recreate the module.  i have spent hours looking however...

does anybody recognize the errors im getting when i try to make?

thank you for your time,

dave

hi and thank you for the response. my camera is a logitec quickcam pro 4000 and i was having issues with setpwc. i read somewhere online a tutorial <http://www.noah.org/wiki/Logitech_QuickCam_Pro_4000_on_Ubuntu> to how to fix the broken driver. looking back on it, i'm guessing it was fixed and that link was old...

moreover, i stupidly removed the previous module without backing it up. i'm not sure how to build this one or some how get back the old module.

any tips for doing so? i would like to learn either way as this is good knowledge i will probably use down the line.

I expect there's some way to get the package manager to do this, but, I don't know how to do that...
