hi and thank you for the response. my camera is a logitec quickcam pro 4000 and i was having issues with setpwc. i read somewhere online a tutorial <http://www.noah.org/wiki/Logitech_QuickCam_Pro_4000_on_Ubuntu> to how to fix the broken driver. looking back on it, i'm guessing it was fixed and that link was old...

moreover, i stupidly removed the previous module without backing it up. i'm not sure how to build this one or some how get back the old module.

any tips for doing so? i would like to learn either way as this is good knowledge i will probably use down the line.
