Hello,

 

Is there any way to reduce latency? (I am using the SPC900NC camera.)

 

I am building a head tracker software (for my master’s thesis) wants to reduce lag. I have measured the latency from picture taken in camera to user program to about 80 ms setting the fps = 30, shutter = 30000 and gain = 65000 parameters (I want a dark image filtering out light points).

 

I have tried to manipulate the mbufs and fbufs parameters but with no result (and should be no result if I am polling the buffers fast enough?).

 

Are there any known speedups that I can do? Some driver hacking?

 

Is it possible to get the latency down to, let’s say, 30 ms?
