A few months ago i bought a Conceptronic USB-Hub to connect
my PCVC680 and/or PCVC740. Both cams failed too. This hub
seems to work with keyboards, mice, etc. but all devices
which may send a whole bunch of data (like scanners!) are
very unstable with this hub.
I switched to a USB-pci-card with NEC-Chip and all problems
where gone. I decided not to buy those low-cost devices any-
more :-/
BTW: System runs gentoo-linux.

USB 1.1
