And you had the kernel-devel RPM for the 2.6.12-1.1387_FC4 kernel installed when you built the module? No, the only extra rpm I installed was the sources one, kernel-2.6.12-1.1387_FC4.src.rpm. I will install the kernel-devel and try again. Thanks very much! BTW, you shouldn't need to manually modprobe the module. It should get auto-loaded when you plug in your camera.
