Hi Luc,
thanks for your answer!
This is what happens when I use the pwc.ko which comes with fedora core 4:
(extraction from /var/log/messages)
Jun 15 15:55:32 130-238-67-39 kernel: pwc Philips webcam module version
9.0.2-unofficial loaded.
Jun 15 15:55:32 130-238-67-39 kernel: pwc Supports Philips PCA645/646,
PCVC675/680/690, PCVC720[40]/730/740/750 & PCVC830/840.
Jun 15 15:55:32 130-238-67-39 kernel: pwc Also supports the Askey VC010,
various Logitech Quickcams, Samsung MPC-C10 and MPC-C30,
Jun 15 15:55:32 130-238-67-39 kernel: pwc the Creative WebCam 5 & Pro Ex,
SOTEC Afina Eye and Visionite VCS-UC300 and VCS-UM100.Jun 15 15:55:32
130-238-67-39 kernel: pwc Philips PCVC690K (Vesta Pro Scan) USB webcam
detected.
Jun 15 15:55:33 130-238-67-39 kernel: pwc Registered as /dev/video0.
Jun 15 15:55:33 130-238-67-39 kernel: usbcore: registered new driver
Philips webcam
Jun 15 15:55:58 130-238-67-39 kernel: pwc Failed to allocate decompress
table.
I.e. I get the error message in the last line. The webcam is not identified
correctly and if I want to use for example fswebcam to test the camera, I
get:
$ fswebcam
Error opening /dev/video0.
open: Cannot allocate memory
When using the pwc.ko which I compile myself after changing the one line
in the code (see first email I sent), then everything works fine! I still
don't get any picture in gnomemeeting, but since the other tools can
access the webcam, I think the problem must be with gnomemeeting....
Cheers, Nils.

Hi,
I am trying to use my PCVC690K webcam (which works fine under RHEL3 and
the old pwcx module) on my laptop which has fedora core 4 installed.
I downloaded the pwc-10.0.4.tar.bz2 and tried to compile it but got the
error:
Why do you take this version, and not the latest as you do with the last
fedora ?
