I would certainly think that some, or most, of your early recordings in mar=
ginally/minimally disturbed habitats would be the best baseline that we hav=
e access too. From these, and subsequent recordings from the same, or nearb=
y locations, we may be able to extrapolate what truly undisturbed habitats =
were like.
Unfortunately, we=92ll never know the species richness and individual numbe=
rs of animals that must have existed before human occupation.
