I have two Sony M10 and have never had a problem with unbalance.
Connecting two plug in power external microphones may cause imbalance,
though. The M10 provides a low voltage to the microphone and not all
external microphones work perfectly.
If your internal microphones are unbalanced, connecting the recorder to
the mains won=1B$B!-=1B(Bt change anything.
