The new Sound Devices MixPre-3 and MixPre-6 are relatively inexpensive, com=
pact and lightweight sound recorders that work with the Sound Devices Wingm=
an application for smartphones these recorders can be controlled from an iP=
hone or iPad which would provide lots of options for the visually impaired.=


They record to an SD card and are powered by either AA batteries or Sony L-=
mount lithium-ion batteries, and have XLR balanced inputs for 3 or 6 mics r=
espectively.
