Hello to all,Does anyone have any good advice on recording crickets/cicadas=
and other orthoptera?=A0I spend a lot of time in the mountains of NW Greec=
e and these little creatures are supposed to be endangered:"The sound of cr=
ickets in European grasslands could soon become a thing of the past." Cicad=
as, Corfu?

No cicadas on Corfu? I can't believe the cicadas will ever disappear from =

I would like to make some soundscape and individual recordings if possible.=
Any thoughts on good fieldcraft and approriate equipment very gratefully r=

For several years I participated in the (now sadly defunct) annual NAAMP su=
rvey. The first 'window', during which we expected to hear Spring Peepers, =
was March 20th to April 16th. Typically, the Peepers would make their first=
appearance around April 1st. This year, we heard them two days ago, on Feb=
ruary 25th. They are at least a month early.
