Hi all,
I have a pair of Sennheiser MKH 8020s, I am very happy with how they sound,
but have not yet figured out how to best work them into my mobile recording
rig.

The mobile rig consists of some combination of the following, only using 4
mics at a time, and ideally I'd like to have it all on a single tripod:
-2 x MKH 8040 in ORTF blimp
-MKH 30 + MKH 40 in MS blimp
-2 x MKH 8020 (presently in separate blimps on small space bar)

For a while, I had them mounted on a small space bar, each of them in their
own small Rycote blimp.

Then on a friend's suggestion (Thanks Dan Dugan) I moved them to separate
small tripods so that they could be spaced farther apart. The stereo image
was of course improved, but this is not a convenient configuration if I am
moving around a lot.

Now I am considering how best to use them. Spaced with a Jecklin Disc?
SASS? Both 8020s in a blimp with an improvised mini Jecklin Disc?

I'd like the setup to be easy to move and sort of stealthy. I've heard some
nice recordings done with MKH 20s and a SASS mount, so I am leaning towards
that as my solution.

Finding SASS mounts is proving difficult, and have a friend good with tools
standing by to help me build something. I've been reading Vicki's helpful
blog posts (thank you for sharing all the great info!) and unless there are
off the shelf solutions someone can recommend, it seems going DIY is the
way to go.

Pic of current setup in with 30/40s and in center and 8020s on the sides is
below.

Thanks in advance for suggestions,

Jason
