I annotate my recordings with labels in Audacity. Each Audacity project has=
 a .aup file, which is plain text and contains among other things, the labe=
ls. So I can just do a text search of all the .aup files to find recordings=
 containing certain species, made at certain locations or on particular dat=
es.
