Hi David,

No one seems to have responded to this query.  David, I use a simple 
spreadsheet format, a column for each different attribute.  Works 
well, nice and simple.  Excel would do the trick.  Having a printed 
copy is useful too.  For Australian birds, I give each species a 
number in taxonomic order, so that I can later 'sort' the spreadsheet 
taxonomically.  But before you try sorting in Excel, always keep a 
spare copy in case the sort goes wrong :-)
