Hi Drew,
Firstly, I'm sure we'd all like to know, is this the video mic 400? If so, =
rather than spend $380 on a pre-amp, it might be better to think about spen=
ding the money on buying another microphone more suited to nature recording=
. You could get a much better suited mic, particularly second hand, for tha=
t money. A more sensitive, lower noise mic would probably be the general re=
commendation.
You will no doubt have many more replies to this question.
