I've finally got around to uploading this unattended recording from 18 mont= hs ago. The microphone was set up between the fork of a fallen tree. About = a minute into the recording, what sounds like at least two Superb Lyrebirds= start shrieking at each other from almost on top of the microphone for the= next 15 minutes. Unfortunately it's clipped, and I'm wondering what people think of the resu= lting sound? Does the clipping matter? I'm also interested to hear opinions on what the birds are doing. There's a= lmost none of the typical mimicry, just shrieking. Territorial dispute? https://soundcloud.com/petershute/brandy-creek-track-lyrebirds2 Peter Shute |
