rahma-in-zoom. I am quite happy with its noise levels, but I need to go to =
some really quite outdoor locations to test it,
I have been using the zoom H6 for its four xlr inputs. that too has given s=
atisfactory results with a Brahma microphone made of tsb 140 capsules and a=
simple phantom power adaptor.

Hi all, =C2=A0We have owned an H4n and a R-26 (and Tascam DR680 and Sony D-=
50)=E2=80=A6 =C2=A0We didn=E2=80=99t keep the H4n for long =E2=80=93 we wou=
ld not recommend that one. It is noisy (inputs) and the internal mics are n=
ot great either. Build quality is also not great. =C2=A0The R26 is a very n=
ice recorder and the XLR inputs/preamps are decent. However its onboard mic=
s are not as good as the Sony D50. =C2=A0The Tascam DR680 is great for valu=
e for money =E2=80=93 the preamps are very good. But yes it=E2=80=99s a chu=
nky unit, not a handheld. =C2=A0So, if onboard mics are not too much of a c=
oncern (they are decent, they are not rubbish, just not as good/sensitive/q=
uiet as the D50), then I would definitely recommend the R26 of those 2 choi=
ces. =C2=A0Noise specs here=E2=80=A6as you can see, there is no comparison =
between the R26 and H4n=E2=80=A6the Roland is tons better/quieter=E2=80=A6 =
