I tried to get past the jargon but failed. The audio example sounded as if=
it had been edited from one pair of tracks and not recorded in one go,
presumably outdoors unless they had a huge hangar. And what to the "ears"
do? Which way should they point?
The obvious test would be to walk around the rig talking, with a quiet
background or doing my shaking peanuts test. And once the 8 capsules have
been matrixed, what is the system noise level? What mic combination ever ha=
s
a smooth straight line frequency response? Non-coincident mics will always=
interact giving peaks and troughs.
