I have experimented with an Aquapac bag, and I get pretty good
results up to 1k Hz. Above 1k Hz the bag starts attenuating the sound
significantly, 9 - 12 dB.
I'm curious about the BubbleShield, which calls itself "sound
permeable," which obviously doesn't mean acoustically transparent. I
would expect similar loss at higher frequencies like the Aquapac, but
I may pick one up and see what it does. I need a very simple and
foolproof solution, because untrained students will be deploying
these. I'm not seeking sonic perfection here, but I don't want too
much attenuation at the frequencies where birds are vocalizing.
