Fred, It's nice to know that this list has been useful. I've listened to your Big= Springs recording and it is beautiful, with excellent clarity and a clean sound picture. The answer to the recordist's noises is long leads. You can then breathe more freely. :-) You mentioned Gordon Hempton so I looked him up: http://soundtrackerthemovie.com/ST/Home.html Somebody please explain to me gently why the video about natural sounds has= inappropriate muzak plastered all over it? This was saved by the Yuba pass= recording: http://soundtracker.bandcamp.com/track/yuba-pass-dawn-june-27-2010 but which to my ears didn't have the clarity of stereo placement of your recording.
