Is a long time since I posted anything but thought this might be of interes=
t.=0D

A week on an island forces a review of any equipment that has to be lugged =
around.=0D
With this in mind I've tried a most simplistic solution.=0D
Take on pair of Teling EM-23 mics.=0D
Take a 1.6 litre 'really useful box' with its clip on lid.=0D
Drill 2 holes in the long side - centrally positioned.=0D
The two mics can then be pushed from inside the box to slightly protrude. F=
ill the inbetween space (i used cotton bags as they were available) so rem=
oving any cross feed between the two mics, and leave enough space over for =
a small recorder - in my case the Sony PCM-D50. =0D
Position box.=0D
Start recording - put on the top which makes the recorder at least safe fro=
m rain - put over the top a large tea cozy sized hairy wind reducer.=0D
=0D
Stereo imaging may not be perfect - but it seems pretty good.=0D
As recorded except for a single low frequency graphic equalizer pass to red=
uce the ubiquitous background noise.=0D
