Hello Norman, I use both PMD661 and LS100 with external batteries, from 6000 mAh to 9000 = mAh. I haven't measured how long they will work as I mostly have them in use onl= y some hours at a time. Without these they operation time is ridiculous low. The batteries are in both recorders on the bottom with a welcro-type tape. Works fine and it's nicer to load these USB-lithium batteries than eg. the = AA-batteries of the PMD. With the PMD I use a 9000 mAh battery of Tensai brand.
