Recording in cold conditions

Subject: Recording in cold conditions

Hi,

In two days time I=92m heading to Spitzbergen, where I=92ll be artist-in-re=
sidence at a marine biology campaign (http://mare-incognitum.no/), and for =
the next two weeks I expect to be able to do field recordings outdoor in re=
latively cold conditions (could be down to minus 25 degrees Celsius or more=
).

Are there any particular precautions I should take into consideration with =
respect to using recording equipment, mics, batteries and storage media at =
such low temperatures?

I=92m planning to mostly use a SoundField SPS200 with a SoundDevices 788T, =
and with a Bushman-modified Tascam 680 as backup.

Thanks a lot!
Trond
