Grant,
If I had megabucks I still wouldn't own a Royce. Too big to drive and park=
and one of the ugliest cars made. Also I don't like being insulated from my=
surroundings. I drive an old Ford Focus and it does everything I want
including drawing a trailer. I've never seen a Roller with a trailer. :-)
My kit includes old pro bits from years ago. I used to use a Nagra 4S which=
was smooth and professioonal, but my current Tascam DR-100 has a much highe=
r
recording quality. Judging by the incoming natural sounds and background
noises, it has an easily good enough recording quality on line in.
My advice would be to spend a little more on a pre-amp or mixer and half
decent mics, and I've been buying old used MKH mics at very affordable
prices. Glamorous gear doesn't always mean better sound.
