I got one on Monday. I am only an enthusiast and have no real technical cap=
abilities (or time) to give y'all a scientific review. The only comparison =
I have is the H4n. I "threw" the H6 outside for an hour with the MS mike on=
it and the record level set to 10 at 96/24. No compression or limiter. Fo=
r my old ears it picked up exactly what I was hearing sitting next to it BU=
T the stereo separation ain't great even though I had the MS set to max. I =
did the same thing last night with the X/Y on it. I liked it much better. P=
icked up humming bird chatter and wing noise about 20 feet away along with =
bugs, barking dogs, birds, deer crunching through the woods etc. I like the=
interface and screen a lot better compared to the H4n and just about every=
thing is configurable. I can't give you any scientific evidence that the pr=
e's are less noisy than the H4n's but my ears in my Sennheisers say they ar=
e.
I have not had a chance to hook up my mix-pre and/or NT-4 to it yet.
Hope to get to it this weekend.
Apologies for the amateurish review.
