Hi, this message is to anyone that could lend some helpful advice. I'm pret=
ty new to recording field samples. I've been a lifelong musician, always cr=
eating music as a mimesis of nature, echoing collages and textures from the=
natural world. So when I started recording the natural world, I kept reali=
zing more and more how much I love capturing these sounds.
I don't have much money, nor do I have much equipment. My equipment is rath=
er a joke. But I want to figure out how to travel around and record. So I j=
ust wanted to see what worked for others here in this group. What are the p=
aths to take? Are there grants to apply for? Research stations that need he=
lp? Environmental centers? I guess my biggest questions are how to get fund=
ing and how to get to locations. Or is this just something that you have to=
self-fund?
Again, any help would be more than appreciated. And please feel free to sha=
re stories/successes of locations you have been to and what sounds you capt=
ured!
Thanks,
Dave
