This bird was singing the same repeated song (with Bewick's Wren and
Bushtits in the background, and Red-winged Blackbirds around) from a row
of coyote brush along Skyline Blvd. in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It's
not something I commonly hear.

Also, we didn't see what was producing this sound at night in a
different park, but there was an adult Dusky-footed Woodrat climbing in
a shrub nearby. This may have been young calling from the ground, under
something. I also heard two brief sets of drumming from up the trail,
but didn't catch that.
