Welcome Manuel !

I think it really depends upon your needs. (and as David said you will not get
consistent answers from the group with this as a basis).

I regard myself as a pragmatic person and am a hunter-gatherer recordist who
wanders around with a Telinga parabola for 90% of my recording time.

My needs are: 1) to follow my dermatologist`s instructions to wear a wide hat
at all times as I have had more than my life-time allowance of solar radiation;
2) to monitor "loudness" to ensure I am pointing at my target individual; 3)to
make sure that my recorder is set at a suitable level to ensure the recording
is usable when I get home; 4) to be able to hear what is going on around me so
I do not miss anything.

For this, based on wise advice from this group many years ago, I use Sony
MDR-WO8L in the field because: 1) they go under my hat, 2) easily pulled in and
out of my ears, 3) are sufficient quality for levels and directionality, 4)
allow me to know what is going on around me, and 5) when I break them/wear them
out (about every 1-2 years) they cost about $10 to replace. I am so keen on
these I have a small stock a home I bought on the internet (I can carry a spare
in my rucksack). But of course they are not "quality" headphones, but I do not
need that in the field.

At home for editing I use a pair of Beyer-Dynamic DT 770pro which are a
completely different kettle of fish but not something I can afford/want to
carry in the field to get wet and snag on branches or get yanked when I trip
over a tree stump !

Hope this helps.
