I had a similar experience with a MS set (MKH30/40) in the Ecuadorean Amazo=
n region (Rio Napo), Andrew. Woke up early one morning in the forest to fin=
d my mics completely silent and the Rykote windscreen completely soaked. I =
took the mics out of the Rykote, removed the foam wind protection from the =
capsules, and lit a kerosene lamp directly under the mics, far enough from =
the capsules so that it got some measure of heat without leaving any carbon=
deposit. Took about half an hour and all worked well, again. No problem, s=
ince.

It was unusual, because typically, the MKH series will work just fine in hi=
gh humidity. This night's humidity might have been the limit, though. Every=
thing was soaked.

they done to fix it? I put the mic in with a silica gel tin made for dryi=
