Mic noise always matters. Dan Dugan said that noise is like watching
a movie with the lights on. It's a nice metaphor.
But by "fetch" or "reach out" I do mean that the microphone is
actively manipulating the incoming sound. A parabol manipulates a
lot, while a SASS manipulates i little.
A directional mic like the 816 is not supposed to manipulate the
incoming signal at all, but only the surrounding sound. It's not the same.
