I'll be in Sydney on a conference in three weeks, and I'll have one day spa= re for birding/recording. I was wondering if there are any NSW list members= who can help me work out a good spot to record a dawn chorus without being= able to check the place out beforehand (i.e. find it for the first time in= the dark). I'll be staying in Manly, so I was thinking Ku-ring-gai National Park might= be ok. Does anyone know if access is possible early in the morning, or, if= there are locked gates, if I can just walk in? Any recommended locations? = I have no target species, just looking for an otherwise quiet place with a = few birds calling that I don't normally encounter in Melbourne. Peter Shute |
