Hi again all,
The above mic has just arrived, and I've been doing some quick tests in the=
studio. First facts are, it is a bit hissy, and it's not very sensitive. S=
econd facts, I do actually like the sound, particularly after simple proces=
sing in Audition. I was using my LS-10 with both low/high sense, and also w=
ith low cut on/off. For the purpose of this test I'll be talking about low =
cut off.
Having tried both 'patterns' I decided I preferred the 120. I next used the=
low sense and did a sixty percent normalise, followed by a Standard Hiss r=
eduction in Audition 1.5. The result I was frankly very pleased with consid=
ering the low price point. I will get this mic out into a natural setting a=
nd make a test recording as soon as I can, and post a sample. It won't be t=
his afternoon because it's foggy and cold!
Note to Keith: I just noticed that with the mic turned off there is still a=
low level glow to the neon; does yours do this? I removed the battery and =
it's gone. I do hope I'm not going to have to return this.
Cheers
Max
