You also might look at Carbon Fiber tripods.  

They are much better at dampening vibration than aluminum.  And they weigh a
lot less as well as a bonus.

That looks like a great solution, if it really works. I think I may buy one
of these.

It'd be great if Rycote just incorporated this principle into their blimp
design.
