Yes. However, iZotope's Rx noise reduction suite has a module which uses pr=
edictive waveform reconstruction to mitigate audible clipping. While I won'=
t say it "cures" clipping, it HAS saved a few tracks for me, resulting from=
 over-excited performers, which otherwise would have been unusable. And whe=
n it's a live concert or a once-in-a-lifetime location setting that's a mig=
hty welcome piece of software to know about.
